Remodeling Contractor

The remodeling industry is growing faster then ever and is evolving in interesting ways. Some of the interesting advances are:

  1. New contractors/New Workers
  2. New material and supply options.
  3. New installation practices.
  4. New tools and training.
  5. New rules and regulations.

This industry is extremely complex and requires a lot of focus when keeping up to date with the changes happening. Many people are trying to get into the contracting business by starting off with small remodeling projects.

Remodeling requires special licensing and training requirements depending on the size and scope of the project. The DBPR is the organization in Florida that oversees contractor licensing for remodeling contractors.

Often we find that a lack of understanding of the rules and laws governing the construction industry causes confusion between the homeowners and unlicensed professionals. If someone is doing remodeling work on your home they must be licensed.

Training

Training employees is crucial when standing behind our work. Things happen but one thing we refuse to let happen is lose money by having to complete a task twice due to poor craftsmanship. We train all of our inhouse crew to make sure they know what they are installing. When it comes to our subcontractors we hold them to the highest standards and they understand our requirements.

At the end of the day Gizze Construction Inc is named after our family it our reputation means everything to us. We take remodeling extremely serious and we know you do to.

Many people that have worked for a general contractor want to get into the business and start advertising their trade to work directly for the homeowner. Although its understandable to want to make more money for your family it does cloud the industry in a lot of way.

One of the big issues is when a homeowner receives multiple estimates for remodeling that they want to compare before choosing who will get the project. This is very deceptive because homeowners typically just want to compare pricing but a licensed contractor can never compete with an unlicensed contractor.

If they do not hold a license they shouldn't be hired.

We do highly recommend and support the National Association Of The Remodeling Industry! As the industry continues to grow we need more options for training and standard setting that NARI provides. Remodeling is an important industry because it effects all of our friends, family and neighbors and we all deserve to have our home remodeled by professionals.
